Spreading your brand is often something that comes down to the amount of money you have to spend. Many small businesses operate on a somewhat limited budget and often times the budget for marketing is very small if not zero. However, there are some creative ways to get your logo out in front of the public and promote yourself. Let’s take a look at a few.
1. Sponsor a running event
This is a great way to get your logo plastered on several hundred T-shirts at one time. Typically the barrier of entry is quite low, however, there are other ways to approach the issue if you want to get placed for free. For starters, you could offer to get sponsorships for the event. Make a deal with the organizers that if you get a certain amount of sponsors, they will put your logo on the banners and shirts for free.
2. Cover the print cost for menus of local restaurants
The same type of idea applies here. Offer to pay for the printing of your local restaurants menus. In return, they place your logo on the menu as a thank you. You might even offer to pay for their staff shirts if they put your logo on the back or credit you on the shirt in some manner.
3. Start a crowd source campaign
Go Fund Me and Kick Starter are two common crowd funding platforms. Create your own campaign to pay for embroidered shirts or promotional items such as pens and stress balls. The platforms are not hard to use and the online process will guide you through setup should you have any difficulty.
4. Strike a deal with your print shop
Barter with your local printer to see if you can get your items screen printed or embroidered for free provided you land them a certain number of valuable contracts. Typically, embroidery and screen printing services look for high school uniform contracts, or any sort of athletic program that recurs annually to be a good source of revenue. If you have contacts in those areas offer to help them get those contracts and maybe they can rebate or refund you a portion of the expenses that you incurred with your order.
5. Barter with Your Clients
If you have a good relationship with some of your clients, offer them a discount in exchange for them to pay for your new round of printed items. This could be a contract discount, three month deal, or some other sort of rebate you come up with that they are agreeable too. Nothing like using the old barter system to your advantage!
There are many other clever ideas you can use to spread your brand and gain exposure. Use these items listed above as creative launch points and come up with other ideas that you can use. Once you get your wheels turning you will quickly realize that there is no limit to the ways you can pay for your promotional items and shirts. The only thing you have to do is get a plan together and take action.
